The wholesale debt market segment (WDM) of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) posted a new record turnover of Rs 1,39,463 crore in January 2003.
The earlier record volume of Rs 1,32,222 crore was reported in November 2002. In 2002-03, the WDM volume crossed Rs 100,000 crore as many as five times.
Meanwhile, the aggregate turnover showed a 19.8 per cent rise to Rs 9,46,487 crore during April 02-January 03, compared with Rs 7,89,889 crore April 01-January 02.

On year on year basis, the WDM segment registered a turnover growth of 24.8 per cent during January.
Aggregate daily turnover also, improved from Rs 4,298 crore in January 2002 to Rs 5,165 crore in January 2003 while the number of trades surged from 17011 to 21295.
The central government 8.07 per cent security maturing at 2017 continued to be a hot favourite among investors, since this is the third consecutive month, it had topped the turnover list.
During January, it has clocked a turnover of Rs 15,922 crore in 2,753 trades, followed by 7.40 per cent 2012 paper (Rs 13,567 crore), 7.46 per cent 2017 (Rs 12,692 crore), 8.35 per cent 2022 (Rs 10,868 crore) and 9.85 per cent 2015 (Rs 7,520 crore).
