Outlook: The spot rupee is expected to open in the range of 44.65-70 to a dollar on Tuesday

The spot rupee opened at 44.61 and lost a tad to close for the day at 44.67 to a dollar.
The annualised premium for six-month and one-year dollars, backed by importer demand closed at 2 per cent and 1.8 per cent even it opened lower. |

Sentiment: Bullish Anticipating weak data from the US and consequent fall in yields, there was good demand for government securities.
While short- and long-term papers stayed flat, medium-tenure papers shot up 20-40 paise.
The yield on 10-year benchmark paper closed at 7.38 per cent against a close of 7.43 per cent last week.
Call rates ruled easy at 6.10 per cent with the RBI absorbing around Rs 14,400 crore from the market.
