The rupee is expected to open between and 46.30 and 46.34 against the dollar on Friday.

  • The rupee opened at 46.33/34 per dollar and ended marginally higher at 46.32/3275.
  • Premiums on forward dollars eased. Annualised premiums on six-month and one-year dollars closed at 2.15 per cent and 1.86 per cent.

    Sentiment: Moderate
  • Government securities prices slid as a poll over inflation forecast, of the headline data to be released this Friday, showed up 8 per cent.
  • Prices of medium-term securities skidded by 50 paise, while those of short-term gilts fell by 10-15 paise.
  • The yield on the ten year benchmark paper stood higher at 6.02 per cent, compared with 5.97 per cent on Wednesday.
  • Call money rates ended comfortable in the 4.20-30 per cent range.
