Re ends marginally lower at 45.88/$

Outlook
The rupee is expected to open between 45.85 and 45.88 against the greenback on Monday.

Sentiment: Bullish

The rupee opened at 45.85/86 per dollar and ended lower 45.87/88. It hit an intraday low of 45.92/94.

Premiums on forward dollars closed higher. Annualised premiums on six-month and one-year dollars closed at 1.74 per cent and 1.47 per cent respectively.

Sentiment: Cautious

Gilt prices trod lower despite headline inflation rate ending lower at 7.81 per cent in the year to September 4.

Prices of long-term securities ended flat after moving in a range of 30-40 paise, while those of medium- and short-term gilts slid by 10-15 paise.

Yield on the ten-year benchmark paper, 7.37 per cent 2014, closed higher at 6.13 per cent, compared with Thursday's 6.11 per cent.

Call money rates firmed up to end at 4.5 per cent ahead of CRR hike taking effect from September 18.
