  • Rupee ended at 44.02 per dollar against Tuesday's close of 44.11, after touching a low of 44.29.
  • Premiums on six-month forward dollar rose to 1.92 per cent from 1.82 per cent on Tuesday.

  • The yield on 7.38 percent 2015 gilt closed at 6.72 per cent after touching a high of 6.76 per cent in early trades.
  • Sentiment was hit on fears that liquidity could tighten, with finance minister saying liquidity-fuelled inflationary pressures would be curbed.
  • Call rate closed higher at 4.90 per cent against Tuesday's 4.80 per cent as advance tax payments sucked out supplies.
  • RBI lowered cut-off price at auction of 91-day treasury bills to Rs 98.67 from Rs 98.73. The yield at the cut-off price rose to 5.40 per cent from 5.15 per cent.
