Outlook: The spot rupee is expected to open in the range of 44.22-44.28 to a dollar. |

Tracking the equity market, the spot rupee opened weaker at 44.29/30 as against a close of 44.21/22 to a dollar on Wednesday.
However following dollar sales by foreign banks, the spot rupee appreciated to close at 44.23/24.
The annualised premia for six month and one year forward dollars were at 3.41 per cent and 3.13 per cent. |

Sentiment: Bearish Anticipating tight liquidity conditions towards end of this week , banks are trading cautiously.
The prices of government securities fell by 15-20 paise across maturities.
The yield on the ten year gilt closed at 7.96 per cent .
Liquidity was comfortable with the RBI receiving bids to the tune of above RS 25,000 crore.
The call rates ruled around 5.40 per cent.
The cut off yield in the 91- day and 364 day t- bill auction was around 7.47 per cent and 7.82 per cent as per the market expectation. |
