The spot rupee opened at 43.53 per dollar, but gained during the day to close at 43.45 per dollar as against the previous close of 43.54 per dollar.Prices of government securities fell today on worries of a possible auction soon.While prices of long-term papers fell by 10-15 paise, short and medium term papers fell by 5-10 paise. The 10-year, 7.38% 2,015 bond closed at an yield of 6.97%.Call rates moved up to 5.05%, and reverse repo bids totalled around Rs 50,000 crore.
