The spot rupee opened at 43.73 per dollar, and gained to 43.64 per dollar on selling by foreign banks. The rupee finally closed at 43.69 per dollar on buying by PSU banks. It had closed at 43.74 per dollar yesterday.Gilt prices moved in a narrow band ahead of the budget. The 10-year, 7.38% 2,015 bond closed at an yield of 6.51%. Call rates were steady at 4.75%, and reverse repo bids were around Rs 26,000 crore.
