The spot rupee opened at 43.55 per dollar, and closed the day at 43.53 per dollar as against the last weekend close of 43.54 per dollar.Gilts, which started on a bullish note, declined during the day due to lack of buying interest. Prices dipped by 10-15 paise across-the-board today. The 10-year, 7.38% 2,015 bond closed at an yield of 7.08%.Call rates were steady at 5%, and reverse repo bids totalled Rs 35,000 crore.
