  • Rupee closed slightly up, recovering from lows in early trade on easing crude prices.
  • Rupee closed slightly up at Rs 43.56 per dollar, against Monday's close of Rs 43.58 and after a low of Rs 43.63.
  • The six-month forward premium was 1.37 per cent, up from 1.32. Sentiment: weak

  • Rising crude prices triggered selling in gilts.
  • The yield on the benchmark 7.38 per cent 2015 gilt was 4 basis points down at 6.87 per cent.
  • Gilt prices closed up as dealers expect the auction of Rs 5,000 crore 7.49 per cent 2017 bond on Thursday to be smooth.
  • Call rate was flat at 4.90 per cent on easy liquidity conditions
  • Oil bonds hogged the limelight compared with gilts
