The Indian rupee today depreciated by nine paise to 50.43 against the US currency in early trade on account of heavy capital outflows by funds and increased month-end $ demand from importers and refiners.
At the Interbank Foreign Exchange market, the local unit, which had snapped its four-day losing streak yesterday and gained 11 paise to 50.34 against the greenback, fell again to 50.43/$.
