Rupee ends marginally lower

Outlook
The rupee is expected to open between 46.32 and 46.35 against the greenback on Tuesday.
 
Sentiment: Dull
 
  • The rupee opened at 46.31/32 per dollar and ended marginally lower at 46.3450/3550.
  • Premiums on forward dollars went up slightly. Annualised premiums on six-month and one-year dollars closed at 1.97 per cent and 1.77 per cent respectively.

    Sentiment: Bullish
  • Government security prices rallied initially but consolidated gains during the end of the day after the annoucement of auctions.
  • Prices of long-term papers moved up by 90 paise but fell back to opening levels, while those of medium-term securities hovered in 50-60 paise band.
  • The yield on the ten year benchmark paper, 7.37 per cent 2014, closed marginally higher at 5.91 per cent.
  • Call money rates ended comforbatle at 4.20-4.30 per cent.
