The rupee recovered by 13 pasie to 54.45 against the American currency in the late morning trade on fresh selling of dollars by banks on the back of lower dollar in the overseas market.
The rupee resumed higher at 54.46 per dollar against the last closing level of 54.58 per dollar at the Interbank Foreign Exchange (Forex) Market and hovered in a range of 54.42 per dollar and 54.48 per dollar before quoting at 54.45 per dollar at 1040 hrs.
Weakness of dollar in the overseas market mainly boosted the rupee value against the dollar, a forex dealer said.
Meanwhile, the Indian benchmark Sensex moved up by 19 points or 0.10% to 18,245.38 in the late afternoon trade.
