United Bank plans organisational rejig

The city-based United Bank of India (UBI) will shortly go for an organisational restructuring exercise and will engage the National Institute of Bank Management (NIBM) for doing a systemic study of the bank's human resource its associations and will come out with a SWOT analysis.
 
Addressing the 13th All India Triennial Conference of United Bank Officer's Association (UBOA), executive director, K N Prithviraj, said, "In a bid to find out the strength and weaknesses of the bank so that we can finalise ourstrategies for the next few years, we have decided to appoint NIBM for undertaking a study."
 
NIBM will also suggest on the ways and means of the restructuring required for the bank, the executive director explained.
 
"This was must to increase the balance sheet size of the bank," he added.
 
UBI has targeted a Rs 51,000 crore business level by 2006, while this year the figure was expected to touch Rs 37,000 crore.
 
"The bank has achieved Rs 2,659 crore of incremental business for the first half of the current fiscal, and we are confident to achieving the target," he explained.
 
"Now that the financial restructuring of the bank has been completed, we will undertake the organisational restructuring of the bank," the EDsaid.
