Vijaya Bank on Saturday launched the bank's second city specific credit card "� the 'Hyderabad Card'. The bank had earlier launched a similar card in Bangalore. Speaking on the occasion, M S Kapur, chairman and managing director of Vijaya Bank, said: "Though it is a city specific card it can be used anywhere in the world. The card holders can avail special discounts, rebates and other special offers at selected outlets in the twin cities."Kapur added that similar city specific cards would be launched soon in Delhi, Mumbai and Chennai. According to Kapur more attractive card products were in the offing from the bank during the current financial year. Outlining the features, Kapur said that with this card, free add-on card (free for two years) would be issued to the spouse, parents or children of the cardholder. Other features include one loyalty point for every Rs 100 spent, free weekly credit card transaction details through e-mail and free 24-hour personal accident insurance coverage."The cardholders can withdraw cash up to Rs 10,000 per month from any of the bank's branches across the country," Kapur added. Uttam Naik, deputy country manager, Visa International, said that the card could be used across 10 lakh Visa ATMs and around 30 million outlets spread across the globe.The bank has set a business target of Rs 42,000 crore for the current financial year compared to the Rs 32,350 crore last year. The bank expects to add close to 150 branches to take the branch network to 1,000 during this fiscal. The bank already has the permission to open 48 new branches and has applied for 60 more. Of the 48 branches, four would be opened in Hyderabad. N Rangachary, advisor to the state government and former chairman of the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority (Irda), complimented the bank for its financial performance showing less than one per cent non-performing assets (NPA) and 100 per cent growth in profit.
