Vijaya Bank opens 10th MSME Cell at Coimbatore

Sanctions loans to the tune of Rs 9.11 crore to more than 30 beneficiaries

Bangalore-based public sector lender Vijaya bank has opened its 10th Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Cell at Coimbatore.

On the occasion, the Bank sanctioned loans to the tune of Rs 9.11 crore covering more than 30 beneficiaries. With this, the total in-principle loans sanctioned touched Rs 2,298.50 crore during the current financial year. Till now, this year, Vijaya Bank has conducted 111 MSME Melas all over India in major potential centres.

As on December 2012, Bank’s outstanding level under MSME sector was Rs 10,257 crore, registering year-on-year growth of 31.78% as compared to Rs 7,783 crore as on December 2011.

Vijaya Bank has several schemes to suit different requirements of the MSMEs like V-Dhanvantari for doctors, V-Vidhya Vahini for educational institutions, V-Vyapar for traders, V-Dhanya for millers and V-Restaurant for hoteliers among others.

“Vijaya Bank is one of the fastest growing public sector banks, which has always been at the forefront in meeting social and economic obligations towards the MSME sector,” K R Shenoy, Executive Director, Vijaya Bank said at the opening ceremony of MSME Cell at Coimbatore.
