The most awaited decision regarding IBPS clerk mains results & Interview are announced officially. There will be no interviews for candidates who qualify in the clerk main exams held in 2015 & would directly proceed for appointment in public sector banks as clerical cadre employees.IBPS along with govt banks have arrived at this decision which will clear the way for clerk recruitment to complete.

The IBPS Clerk V announced in August 2015 involved a two tier exam process for the first time – preliminary & main.

No Interviews for Clerks, says IBPS

After the prelims results were announced in December 2015, candidates appeared for the mains in January 2016.

IBPS has published a detailed notification on its website about scrapping the interviews for clerk 2015 mains.

More From This Section

The important points from it are:

  • No Interviews will be conducted for IBPS Clerk V
  • Main exam scores shall only be taken for final selection by giving it 100% weightage
  • Provisional allotment to be made as per the merit list
  • Local language proficiency would be tested by banks before appointment.

There is no mention on when IBPS clerk mains results are to be released nor they have given any approximate dates. But you can expect the results to be out within the next 20 days since the interview issue has been resolved.

The original notice is up on their website that can be downloaded from here (pdf).

Could Final Cutoffs be High?

Earlier, selections were done by combining the exam & interview score by taking a weightage of 80:20.

Sometimes top scoring candidates were eliminated in the interview round for not securing the cutoff scores.

But this time,

  • A merit list featuring only the Top scorers is to be prepared.
  • Depending on the vacancies reported by banks, these top scorers will get allotments
  • If the number of vacancies in a particular state is low, cutoffs shall be high

Going by the current change in selection, candidates with 150+ attempts can expect final provisional allotment.
Since the clerk mains exam was called easy by many, the chance of cutoffs to go even higher is also possible.

While you can rejoice for not having to attend interviews for bank clerk jobs hereafter, there is a necessity to improve your exam scores drastically.

If you wanna say thanks for this change, you have to thank the PM Shri.Narendra Modi for sowing this idea in his Independence day speech.Based on it, Ministry of Finance (Govt of India) addressed sent a letter to all the bank heads ordering them to discontinue interviews while conducting recruitments for clerical staff.
