One hundred and eighty (180) numbers of underpasses are proposed to be built on National Highway No. 2 in the country. Giving this information in a written reply to a question in Lok Sabha today, Minister of State for Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, Shri Pon Radhakrishnan further informed that the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) has taken up the project for construction of Bridge across Ganga River near Sahebganj, which will give connectivity to NH-131A on Bihar side and NH-80 on Jharkhand side. The tentative estimated cost of bridge is Rs. 800 Crore. The anticipated construction period for the bridge is 5 Years. A large population of the State of Jharkhand and Bihar are likely to be benefited besides neighboring countries of Nepal and Bhutan.
