The Government has planned amendments in the Consumer Protection Act to make it more effective as protection of consumers in terms of quality, quantity and safety is of utmost importance. This was stated by Shri Ram Villas Paswan, Minister of Consumer Affairs, Food and Pubic Distribution while inaugurating the National Consumer Convention being organized by Consumer Coordination Council here today. He said that all efforts will be made to ensure quick redressal of consumer grievances and strict enforcement of quality parameters for consumer products. I seek the cooperation of all stakeholders such as voluntary consumer organizations, State Governments, consumer forums, and members of Consumer Coordination Council, to work together to empower the consumers of the country, he urged.
