The scheme of giving incentives to employers, for providing employment to persons with disabilities in the private sector was launched in the year 2008-09. Under the scheme, payment of employers contribution towards the Employees Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) and the Employees State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) for the first three years, is made by the Government of India, in respect of persons with disability appointed in the private sector on or after 1st April, 2008 to a post carrying monthly emoluments of up to Rs.25, 000.
