FIR filed in cases of attacks against girls and women As per information provided by the National Crime Records Bureau (NCRB), a total of 24923, 33707 and 36735 cases of rape, a total of 45351, 70739 and 82235 cases of assault on women with intent to outrage her modesty and 9173, 12589 and 9735 cases of insult to the modesty of women under crime against women (including girl children) were reported in the country during 2012, 2013 and 2014 respectively. This was stated by the Minister of State for Home Affairs, Shri Haribhai Parathibhai Chaudhary in a written reply to a question by Shri K.K. Ragesh in the Rajya Sabha today.
