High-tec Dredgers to be Manufactured at Cochin Shipyard

Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with M/s. IHC Holland BV(IHC) for co-operation to construct Cutter Suction Hopper Dredgers (CSDs) and Trailing Suction Hopper Dredgers (TSHDs). IHC, which has vast experience and proven capability to build world class dredging equipment, has been identified as the technology partner through a transparent Expression of Interest (EoI) process by CSL. Normally, latest technology dredgers are being imported into the country, but with this initiative world class high technology dredgers can be manufactured at CSL, thus saving valuable foreign exchange. Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL) is building dredgers for Inland Waterways Authority of India (IWAI) as part of the efforts towards Make in India campaign.
