Improving the Quality of Medical Education The Medical Council of India (MCI) is the statutory body responsible for establishing and maintaining high standards in medical education. For this purpose MCI causes the assessment of every medical college on a year to year basis. Further a common Entrance Test namely National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) has been introduced from this year, for admissions to undergraduate and post graduate courses. The Union Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Sh J P Nadda stated this in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha here today.
