National Water Conservation and Water Enrichment Scheme Proposed to be Launched from September 25 Uma Bharti Addressed Official of her Ministry

Union Ministry of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation proposes to launch a National Water Conservation and Water Enrichment Scheme from 25th of this month. September 25th is the birth anniversary of Late Deen Dayal Upadhyaya.

This was announced by Union Minister of Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Sushri Uma Bharti while addressing a meeting of Director level officials of her Ministry here today. The Minister told official that they have a rich depository of knowledge and experience which can be used for successful implementation of various scheme and programmes of the Ministry. The Ministers sought free and frank opinion of the officers on various issues such as delay in the construction of dams, new techniques of water conservation, steps to prevent pollution in Ganga, how to ensure e-flow of Ganga, pollution in Yamuna, fall in ground water level of the country and to relocate extinct rivers. She asked official to send their views in closed envelops directly to her. She extorted official to giver their opinion without any fear and hesitation.

The meeting was also addressed by Additional Secretary Shri Amarjeet Singh. The officers described the meetings as very encouraging, affectionate and unprecedented. The officials assured the Minister that they will try their best to fulfill her aspirations.
