NCAP Tests While no official communication in this matter has been received in the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways and the Department of Heavy Industries of the Government of India, the website of the Global New Car Assessment Programme has posted information on some models of cars manufactured in India. Although no such programme is being run at present by the Ministry of Road Transport & Highways, in order to ensure that the vehicles manufactured are safe, the Ministry have introduced several safety standards for new vehicles vide notification no. S.O. 1139 (E) dated 28.04.2015 and S.O. 2412 (E) dated 03.09.2015. As informed by Ministry of Road Transport & Highways no such proposal is under consideration of that Ministry at present. This information was given by Minister of State In the Ministry of Heavy Industries and Public Enterprises Shri Babul Supriyo in reply to a written question in the Lok Sabha today.
