Possible areas of cooperation between Kyoto and Varanasi discussed First meeting of Steering Committee on Kyoto-Varanasi held

The similarities between the Japanese city of Kyoto and the Indian city of Varanasi and the probable areas of collaboration between the two cities were discussed in detail today at the first meeting of the Steering Committee on Kyoto-Varanasi Cooperation. The meeting was chaired by Shri Shankar Aggarwal, Secretary(Urban Development), who is also the Chairman of the Steering Committee, set up to operationalize the Agreement on Sister City Cooperation signed during the last visit of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi to Japan.
