Representations Received by NCST on Police Firing in Manipur As informed by the National Commission for Scheduled Tribes (NCST), a complaint dated 10.11.2015 had been received from Manipur Tribals Forum, Delhi.Consequently, NCST sought comments thereon from the State Government of Manipur. Tribal Affairs Hills and SC Development Department, Government of Manipur has informed that Magisterial Inquiry had been ordered by State Home Department. The Inquiry Officer has reported that the local people and Joint Action Committee did not allow him to conduct the Magisterial Inquiry. It was further reported that the State Government was trying hard to bring normalcy in the area by negotiating with the local people. This information was given by Union Minister of State for Tribal Affairs Shri Mansukhbhai Dhanjibhai Vasava in a written reply in Rajya Sabha today. Samir/jk
