Legendary New York Yankees catcher Yogi Berra, known as much for his play behind the home plate as for his one-liners, passed away today at the age of 90.
"It is with heavy hearts that we share the news that Yogi Berra passed away Tuesday night at the age of 90," the Yogi Berra Museum announced early Wednesday morning.
Berra won 10 championships, played in 15 All-Star Games, and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 1972.
Born Lawrence Peter Berra, he earned the nickname "Yogi" from a childhood friend who said the snake charmer in a movie looked like Berra, according to a CNN report.
Besides being a superstar in the field, Berra gained a reputation for delivering some of the most memorable quotes in history, popularly known as "Yogi-isms."
Here is a list of top 10 Yogi-isms that will remain with us forever.
