The 24-hour ceasefire agreement between Israel and Hamas, brokered by the United Nations on Saturday, seems to have been stalled with both the sides continuing their offensives.
While Hamas launched air strikes in Israel after accusing the latter of failing to abide by the agreement, Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded back by saying that Israel will do whatever is necessary to defend its citizens, reported the BBC.
After observing a 12-hour long ceasefire on Saturday, Israel had accepted the UN request to abide by a 24-hour long ceasefire till the end of Sunday, although it had said it will continue to attack the tunnels dug by Hamas militants.
