Radical Islamist group ISIS in Syria is 'so brutal that even Al Qaeda keeps its distance', a new report has found.

The group left a trail of violence as it was driven out of the Syrian town of Addana.

In an exclusive report, the town's residents showed a CNN reporter where ISIS carried out executions and left the bodies for others to see, The Washington Times reports.

A fighter told the CNN that they used to leave the bodies of people they executed at the checkpoint for days.

The ISIS was initially welcomed by fighters in Addana, but the group started to exert "harsh order" in the town.

Now, residents are left in grief and, among mass graves by the prison, come across the clothes of family members who went missing, the report added.
