Even as Microsoft's chief Steve Ballmer heads to his exit, the company is yet to formally announce his replacement and tech heads are speedily denying being part of the rat race.

The latest to dismiss the rumours of being a potential candidate for Ballmer's replacement is Ericsson CEO Hans Vestberg, who said that he has no plans to step down from his current position.

According to Cnet, Vestberg's name was added to the list of speculated Ballmer replacements, including Ford CEO Alan Mulally, Skype head Tony Bates, Microsoft's Cloud chief Satya Nadella, among others.

Out of the suggested candidates, Mulally recently made it official that he was not interested in taking up the top job at Microsoft.

Another potential candidate is seen in John Thompson, who is heading Microsoft's search committee for Ballmer replacement

Ballmer had announced his retirement in August last year.
