Francois Hollande officially 'dumps' Valerie Trierweiler for mistress

French President Francois Hollande has decided to end his relationship with official partner Valerie Trierweiler amid reports of his affair with actress Julie Gayet.

Hollande said that he is letting it be known that he has put an end to the life he shared with the 48-year-old journalist, the Independent reported.

Meanwhile, Trierweiler has refused to add her name to the declaration to show that the decision to end their unmarried relationship was Hollande's alone.
