Google has reportedly announced that its senior advertising executive, Susan Wojcicki, would now run the YouTube service.
YouTube's now former chief, Salar Kamangar, would stay at the search giant and work on 'early-stage projects', while Wojcicki, who has been serving as the vice president overseeing advertising and commerce, would lead the video site.
Google CEO Larry Page said that like Kamangar, Wojcicki has a healthy disregard for the impossible and is excited about improving YouTube in ways that people will love, The Verge reports.
Meanwhile, Wojcicki tweeted that she was excited to join YouTube and she looked forward to watching a lot more videos during work.
The report said that Wojcicki is employee No. 16 at Google, sister of 23AndMe CEO Anne Wojcicki, who is also the wife of Google co-founder Sergey Brin, and in 1998 she housed the young startup in her garage as it built its search engine.
