Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia on Sunday said that instigators of the Gulshan cafe attack have been identified and their arrest is now simply a matter of time.

Mia made the statement at his office this afternoon, reports the Daily Star.

Earlier on July 1, Bangladesh witnessed one of the worst terror attacks in its history as gunmen attacked Holey Artisan Bakery in Dhaka's upscale eatery on Road 79 of Gulshan, killing 22 people including two police officers after a 12-hour long hostage situation.

Nine Italians, seven Japanese, two Bangladeshis, one Bangladeshi-American and one Indian were among the dead.

While thirteen hostages were rescued during the 50-minute army-led joint forces operation codenamed "Operation Thunderbolt", six gunmen, who attacked the upscale eatery, were shot down.
