Former Pakistani prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani claims to have made the army and the Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) answerable to parliament.

In a Geo News programme, Gilani said he was the first prime minister who made the ISI and Pakistan army accountable to the country's parliament, The News International reported.

Gilani also said that he did not lament his decision to reinstate the judges of higher courts dismissed by then president Gen. Pervez Musharraf.

Gilani said he had serious concerns over the transparency of the recent general elections that saw the rout of his Pakistan Peoples Party by the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

Gilani also claimed India's interference in Balochistan, saying: "(Army chief) General (Ashfaq Parvez) Kayani had told an international leader that he had the proof of Indian meddling and could provide it, if needed. Now the parliament can ask him about it."
