Former Pakistan President Pervez Musharraf has reportedly said that the country's conditions were getting worse with each passing day and his term was a golden era for Pakistan.

Lamenting the country's conditions, Musharraf reflected that when he was stepping down from power, a dollar amounted to 61 rupees.

According to Dawn News, the former army strongman said that all he did during his rule was aimed at ensuring the interests of the country.

Speaking for the first time after getting bail in the criminal cases against him, Musharraf said that the cases against him had no foundation and he would brave all the difficulties in his path.

The former dictator further denounced the treason charges against him as a 'vendetta', and has claimed that he continues to enjoy the backing of the country's powerful army.
