Obama vows to act against economic inequality bypassing Congress in 2014

President Barack Obama has vowed to tackle economic inequality, bypassing Congress whenever and wherever required, as he enters the sixth year of his office.

In his State of the Union address, Obama renewed his call for Congress to approve an immigration overhaul in 2014, Fox News reports.

Meanwhile, he narrowed his focus to smaller-ticket items he's vowing to do on his own.

Obama urged a forthcoming "year of action" with concrete, practical proposals to boost the middle class and build new opportunities for others.
