Available on subscription basis Oracle Cloud at Customer now allows users the benefit of cloud offerings that is available on premise. This combination of hardware and software is available on subscription model allowing users to continue with an opex model. This is the first-of-its kind service in the country.

“This will be a game changer for us in India. The Indian market for cloud adoption is growing at 20% but we have been growing 100%. With this we think we will now grow much faster in India. We have announced that our public cloud will now be available on your premise and this will be given to you on subscription based. All concerns of regulatory, legacy and security are addressed,” said Shailendra Kumar, MD, Oracle India.

Oracle Cloud at Customer solutions cover infrastructure, data management, application development, enterprise integration and management.

Also, customers can enable workload portability between on-premises and cloud using identical environments, toolsets, and APIs, easily can move Oracle and non-Oracle workloads between on-premises and the cloud based on their changing business requirement. “We have been selling two to three cloud services per day in India. We are saying to CIOs no need to rip and replace as they move to Oracle services,” said Kumar.

Shawn Price, senior VP of Cloud, Oracle in a media conference said that India as a market has the perfect storm build up for the adoption of cloud. “India has the perfect

storm built up and the best time to invest in India. In terms of the consumption of mobile handsets, India is the second largest country and 25% of the population is engaged in e-commerce activity. The country has the potential to be the largest cloud adopter in the world,” he said.
