Over 1,200 imported Porsche vehicles having defective brake pedals that pose serious safety risks were today recalled in China.
The recall affects 1,236 cars manufactured by German carmaker Porsche between July 2013 and February 2016, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine said in a statement.
The snap spring of the brake pedals, of the affected vehicles, may loosen during driving, posing serious safety risks, state-run Xinhua news agency reported.
The Dalian-based car import and export company asked dealers to check all affected vehicles and replace the defective parts free of charge, the statement said.
