Rescue workers have retrieved at least seven bodies from Karachi airport's cold-storage facility, following Sunday's attack by militants.
According to Dawn News, the rescue operation has been on for nearly 28 hours. Rescue workers broke down three walls of the cold-storage facility to retrieve the bodies of the deceased, who are believed to be employees of a private cargo company.
Sindh Health Minister Dr Sagheer Ahmed, while interacting with media persons, said the bodies were moved to Jinnah Hospital for DNA tests for identification, after which, they would be handed over to their relatives.
He said the bodies were burnt beyond recognition, and it would take three weeks before the corpses are identified.
He added that if the deceased could not be identified, they would be buried with temporary identification.
The attack on Jinnah International Airport left 28 dead, including 10 terrorists.
The militants had disguised themselves as police guards and stormed the airport terminal, opening fire with machine guns and a rocket launcher.
