Russian Deputy PM visits LeEco facility in Beijing

Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov recently paid a visit to Chinese technology conglomerate LeEco's facility in Beijing.

Representing the China-Russia Investment Committee, Shuvalov took a tour of LeEco's ecosystem products, including the most renowned LeSee electric car, superphone, super TV, virtual reality (VR) and others.

"Russia is welcoming LeEco to invest in Russia and will provide the best market environment and full support," said Shuvalov in a statement.

Shuvalov was part of the delegation with Russian President Vladimir Putin who visited China this month.

During the one-hour visit to LeEco, Shuvalov and other Russian top officials visited the company's product experience centre and briefly met the Vice Chairman and Co-Founder of LeEco Liu Hong and other top executives, including LeREE's President Xu Xinquan.

Liu Hong and Xu Xinquan also introduced three LeEco smart terminals - super TV, superphones and LeSEE super car and its renowned content ecosystem.

Shuvalov even tested the concept electric car model. He also tried the latest version of LeEco's VR headset and other disruptive ecosystem products.

"I am hoping that LeEco would bring its powerful content ecosystem, products and services to Russia for which the Russian government will provide strong policy supports and create better investment environment," Shuvalov said.

LeEco plans to invest $50-100 million in Russia and aims to bring the comprehensive ecosystem to the country.

With an enormous base of internet users, Russia will become one of LeEco's significant and strategic markets in its global expansion plan.

At present, LeEco is establishing LeRee (LeEco Russia and East Europe), a wholly-owned subsidiary in Russia.

LeEco has also obtained the exclusive all-media rights to the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia and has reached an agreement with the Institute of Internet Development (IID), Russia Export Centre and JSC Digital TV Network.

LeEco has also received exclusive rights to the 2018 Russia World Cup.

At the International Economic Forum in St Petersburg recently, Putin supported LeEco's plans to invest in Russia, adding that  a favourable investment environment will be provided to LeEco in the country.
