Arizonian interventionist cardiologist Dr Ismail Bokhari, who examined Pakistani former president Pervez Musharraf on his health condition, has reportedly said that the General's chance for a serious cardiac disease is very low.

Contradicting earlier reports of Texas based cardiologist Dr Arjamund Hashmi, Dr. Ismail's report said that Musharraf's cardiac examination was perfectly normal and his heart rate was described at a normal 56 beats/min.

Ismail further stated that the patient's complaints of chest discomfort was probably due to cervical spine and shoulder disease, adding that in his opinion, the former president was faced with low risk for any serious cardiac event at this time, the Nation reported.

Gen Musharraf was being treated for heart problems since 2006.
