"It must be nice having a leader that supports all religions! Wish that was the case here in the US," writes Dustin Ginsberg on Facebook.

The comment laments the state of affairs in the US, juxtaposing the wave against multiculturalism in America with the direction Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has taken. While President Donald Trump decided to forgo the Iftar dinner at the White House for the first time in two decades, Trudeau decided to be the face of inclusion on the web with his June 24 video wishing Muslims 'Eid Mubarak' on the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.

"The community spirit felt at Ramadan food banks in Montreal & Toronto reminds us all: no matter our backgrounds, we're in this together," Trudeau wrote along with the video.

The young Prime Minister is, however, an old hand at striking the right chord with various communities. In April this year, he wished the Indian diaspora in Canada on the festival of Baisakhi, in fluent Punjabi. In January, he wished the Tamilian community in the country on the festival of Pongal, again he used Tamil as well as English and French.

His Eid Mubarak video has garnered 5.7 million views till date. Trudeau had them eating right out of his hands.

"This man is continuously earning the immense respect and love not just from Muslims but from all other brothers and sisters...," one commenter wrote on Facebook.

"May God bless u & your unstoppable efforts to make every one in your country happy!! Canadians should be proud of u (sic)," a Yemeni-origin girl from Malaysia wrote.

"Mr. Prime Minister We love you. Eid Mubarak to you and your beautiful family as well. Stay Blessed and Shinning like a Star Always," Sajjad Muhammad responded to the video.

"May be as a prime minister he didn't win everybody's heart, but as a human being he won all of our hearts! Respect to you Mr. Trudeau!" another netizen wrote.

Suffice to say, the liberal-thinking populace of the internet has Trudeau's back, unlike in the case of some other world leaders. Around 21,000 Facebook comments, the vast majority, if not all, of them praising him, back that up.
