A total of 123 students from the 2007-09 batch of 263 students will be interning abroad across various firms and functional roles, according to an offical release issued by Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) today.Investment banks like Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers and Merrill Lynch were among the top recruiters at the summer placements 2008 at the institute.About 100 firms participated in the placements, which were held from November 13 to 18 for the batch of 2007-09. All the 263 students in the batch were successfully placed during the summer recruitment process.Goldman Sachs emerged as the top recruiter with 17 students accepting the company's offer. Lehman Brothers made successful offers to 15 students while Merrill Lynch saw 13 of them accepting their offer.Students also accepted offers from consulting firms like McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group and Bain.The number of private equity firms visiting the campus for placements grew five-fold, and the sector saw a total of 15 acceptances. Many of the big private equity firms like Blackstone, General Atlantic, Audax and Greater Pacific Captial visited the campus for the first time.Firms like Google, Amazon (the star recrutier in the IT/ITES domain) and Chicago-based Starcome MediaVest group (a leading global marketing communications network) added diversity to the pool of recruiters.
