The thirty ninth annual convocation ceremony of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, was held here on Saturday evening. |
170 students of the Post Graduate Programme (PGP) in Management, six students of the Fellow Programme in Management (FPM), and 30 students of the PGP in Agri-Business Management graduated from the IIM-A at the ceremony. The ceremony was attended by Member of Parliament and former RBI Governor Bimal Jalan and N R Narayana Murthy chief mentor Infosys Technologies. |

Six students received the title of `Fellow of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad', on Saturday at the convocation. After a two-year course, students of the programme carry out an independent research supervised by a Thesis Advisory Committee. |

The thesis submitted by the student is defended before a Thesis Examination Committee. The students who received the title of Fellow are Vivek Gupta, Namit Mehta, Peeyush Mehta, Deepa Menon, C Prabhu and Satyendra Kumar. |

In addition, 170 students also received the Post Graduate Diploma in Management. Three students - Mukundan D, K N Ramganesh and D V Ravi Shankar received the institute's gold medal for Scholastic performance. |

Under the Post Graduate Programme in Agri-Business Management (PGP-ABM), 30 students received the Post Graduate Diploma in Agri-Business Management at the convocation. Dhruba Jyoti Banerjee received the institute's gold medal for scholastic performance in the course, which is equivalent to a MBA. |

Among the students that received the title of Fellow of the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, Vivek Gupta completed a thesis on `Determination of Incidence and Modes of Alliances - A study of Indian Information Industry'. |

Namit Mehta completed a thesis on `Collaborations in Supply Chain: Value of Information Sharing'. Peeyush Mehta completed his thesis on `Production Planning and Scheduling in Multi-Stage Batch Production Environment'. Deepa Menon completed a thesis on `Managing Urban Air Quality in India: Models, Policy Instruments, and Institutions'. |
