The Crown Holdings Inc and the Gillette Company. King Gillette worked as a salesman in the Crown Cork and Seal Company during the 1890's. In 1891, Crown's founder William Painter, who invented the crown bottle cap, and Gillette had a very important conversation. Painter encouraged him to begin working on a product that would be thrown away after its use (like the crown cap), which would keep consumers coming back for more of the product. These words became an obsession for Gillette who went on to invent the disposable razor.
