City-based Asian School of Business Management (ASBM) today entered into an MoU (memorandum of understanding) with the Hyderabad-based construction and infrastructure company Lanco Infratech Limited for introducing a two-year, full-time management programme in infrastructure management.
The course in infrastructure management will be offered at ASBM’s upcoming Hyderabad campus from the 2009-10 academic session. With an intake of 60 seats, the two-year programme will comprise six months of industry internship to enable the students to have a hands-on experience in the infrastructure sector.
Commenting on the tie-up, SM Roy, chief executive officer, Lanco Infratech Limited, said, “This tie-up of our company with ASBM is a collaboration of knowledge. The programme on infrastructure management is significant as the infrastructure sector requires a pool of talented professionals who can perform in sync with changing business dynamics and it is the responsibility of B-schools like ASBM to produce such professionals.”
Biswajeet Pattanayak, founder director, ASBM said, “The programme in infrastructure management will cater to the growing need for professionals in this sector. There is a huge scope for infrastructure development in the country and infrastructure has now emerged as one of the lucrative business domains.”
“In the current scenario when there is a dearth of employable talent in the country, B-schools need to come closer to the industry and design their courses and pedagogy which suits the changing needs of different industries. ASBM has set the trend by rolling out sector specific management programmes with high thrust on industry application and orientation”, he added.
