Financing development
IIM Ahmedabad will conduct a programme on 'Infrastructure development and financing'. The programme aims at providing the participants with perspectives, concepts, and skills necessary to structure, appraise, finance, and implement infrastructure projects.

Players: Senior executives of organisations involved in infrastructure development and financing, banks, financial institutions, regulatory and policy making bodies, telecommunication, transportation (airports, ports, railways, roads), power etc. IAS officers sponsored by the Department of Personnel.

Fee: Rs 45,000 (US$ 1200 for participants from other countries)

PG in clinical research
The Institute of Clinical Research India (ICRI) has announced admission for its one-year Part-time PG Diploma in Clinical Research. The course begins this November in Mumbai, Delhi and Bangalore.
Students who have completed BSc / MSc / BPharm / MBBS / MD / BDS / BAMS and BHMS are eligible to apply.
Selection will be based on a personal interview.

Canada beckons
The Consulate General of Canada, in partnership with the Maharashtra Economic Development Council (MEDC), is organising an Education Mission to Canada from September 17-30. The objective of the mission is to secure linkages between Indian and Canadian institutions at the higher education level. The delegation will focus on joint programmes for aviation, animation and fine arts, management, life sciences, health care, engineering, food and agriculture. The 29-member delegates will also explore opportunities for joint research and faculty exchanges.
 
Software management
IIM Bangalore will organise a four-day programme on 'Software project management'. The programme aims at developing a balance between knowledge process and leadership skills. Classroom discussions with inputs from leading experts from industry and academia will form part of the programme.

B-school ranking issue
Institute of Finance and International Management (IFIM) B-School, Bangalore is calling for papers from leading academicians and corporate for its annual event - Convergence 2006 on the theme 'B-School Ranking: Impacts and Issues'. Convergence 2006 will be held in IFIM Campus on November 3. The conference will have representations from the field of education, government, media and corporate to discuss the efficacy of the ranking process and issues faced by the B-schools in India.
 
Mobile agent research at IIT Roorkee
Cisco Systems has joined hands with the Indian Institute of Technology- Roorkee, for advanced research on mobile agent technology. Cisco will set up state of the art networking infrastructure to facilitate research and development on 'mobile agents' in the wide area network (WAN) and wireless environments which will help improve the study environment for networking security protocols and architecture. Currently, these studies are being done in a Local Area Network (LAN) setting, which limits their applicability in networking research.
