Students will be divided into teams and each team will study five Indian companies.

Ohio-based Fisher College of Business is all set to be the latest to join the bandwagon of foreign institutes planning to introduce courses on the Indian business environment.

The Ohio University affiliated college has lined up a new course called 'Emerging Markets Field Study course' which would study the business environment in India as well as the current scenario of Indo-US relations. The course is set to commence from the winter quarter of 2007.

Apart from the course curriculum, the students would be divided into teams and each team would be asked to choose five Indian companies to study in depth. Towards the end of the course, the students will travel to Delhi and Mumbai for 12 days during which they will be visiting these companies and their facilities, and gather further information on them.

"We currently study India from this point of view in a variety of courses in the curriculum, and will continue to develop further opportunities for students relating to the study of the Indian business environment," said Mona Makhija, professor of management at Fisher College of Business.

H Rao Unnava, Associate Professor and the W Arthur Cullman Designated Professorship in Marketing opined the course is a unique opportunity for two countries to study each others' business education models.
