Highest stipend rises by 50% at IIM Rohtak's summer placements

Highest stipend rose by 50 per cent and average stipend by 23 per cent even as the Indian Institute of Management, Rohtak (IIM-R) concluded its summer internship placements for the PGP batch of 2014-16.

While the highest stipend offered grew from Rs 1 lakh last year to Rs 1.5 lakh this year, the average stipend this year stood at Rs 43,914 at IIM-R's summer placements. Over 50 recruiters including 15 new recruiters participated in the summer placement process that saw 128 students seeking placements and 25 opting out of the process.

Among the major recruiters included American Express, JP Morgan, ICICI Bank, Wipro, Tata Motors, Sapient, Mphasis, Dabur, Crisil, Stryker, Michelin, Amway, Tata Steel, Sebi, Aviva Life Insurance, Jindal Steel & Power Limited, IFB Global, Tetrapak, Actuate Business Consulting, RJ Corp, McCann Erickson and Mafatlal.

While domain-wise, sales and marketing topped the list at 70 per cent, industry-wise, manufacturing and IT/ITeS led at 20 per cent and 19 per cent of the total offers made. Finance was the second highest domain at 12 per cent which included profiles such as investment banking, financial modeling, corporate finance, trading, retail banking, portfolio management and risk management.

Other profiles included strategy, IT, consulting, HR, operations, general management, business development, strategy design and execution, B2B marketing, marketing research, and services marketing, to sales and advertising.
